The United Methodist Men Fellowship is the official organization for men in The United Methodist Church at the local church, Annual Conference, and denominational levels.

Some of the functions of the United Methodist Men are as follows:

To involve men in a growing relationship to Jesus Christ and His church
To provide resources and support for programs of evangelism focused on the needs of men
To provide resources and programs in the area of stewardship

Two major outreach programs provided by this organization of the Hatteras United Methodist Charge are the Hatteras Island Food Pantry and the Emergency Assistance Program. The Food Pantry and the EA program provide immediate emergency services to those experiencing a need in crisis. The elderly use the program monthly and families in crisis use the program as needed. The program is run completely by volunteers of the Cape Hatteras Methodist Men with no administrative cost. The community generously donates to the program iwth 100% of budget being spent directly on services for people on Hatteras Island. Referrals to this program are made throught Dare County Social Services, Albemarle Mental Health and Hatteras Island ministers.

After Hurricane Isabel, popular singing artist, Jimmy Buffett contributed to the Hatteras United Methodist Men Food Pantry.

The Emergency Assistance Program at Buxton UMC was selected as the Outstanding Lay Ministry of the Year during the 2003 sessions of the North Carolina Conference in Fayetteville, NC.	Helping Leader
